The Farndale Avenue Townswomen's Guild Dramatic Society are at it again!  The Haven Players certainly pulled out all the stops when staging this delightful farce.  Farce has to be fast and furious and this one certainly was with the right amount of doors that opened and closed easily

Phoebe Reece, the Guild Chairperson – played by  Charisse Goddard - opened the proceedings from the audience in a very chatty manner and we were then transported to a small hotel in France with a Hoover being much in evidence!  What followed was very much in the style of Boeing Boeing with many complicated romantic encounters, part of the scenery falling down at times, unusual sound effects and evidently certain goings on in the lighting box!

Charisse Goddard excelled as Mrs Reece (a part she had evidently always wanted to play) and the whole cast of four ladies and one man acted in true Farndale tradition and had the audience in stitches with everything going wrong.

There really is an art to acting in this fashion and Charisse, Alicia Jay, Kirsti Bennett-Koster, Josie Mead and Josh South played their characters throughout with great enthusiasm and are to be congratulated for giving us farce as it is really meant to be.  Rehearsals must have been a blast but also very hard work.

The technical team is even more important in a play of this kind and Stage Manager Les Worsfold and all those looking after set construction and scenic artistry, sound and lighting, costume and all the other hard work that goes on back stage gave of their all with their great support to those on stage.

Thanks to Director Geoff Baker and all involved, your audiences had a whale of a time and long live Farndale!
