Parish Players, St. Mary's Church Hall
No expense appeared to have been spared in this lavish production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A huge video wall upstage with some very clever graphics, together with effects such as a hydraulic glass elevator provided background (and largely determined staging) for this thoroughly entertaining production. A strong line up of principals were all suitably Dahlesque, with the entire cast impressively dressed in a variety of colourful and appropriately fantastical costumes. Ensemble and dancers were used to good effect with, as we have come to expect, some very smart choreography. This was definitely a crowd-pleasing show.
