A tiny stage transformed into a living room of Eric and Linda’s London home, with a variety of doors and many expectations. Linda entered looking extremely comfortable with her surroundings as she prepared to leave for work. Eric was suitably stressed in the situation of his own making and his energy levels never faltered throughout, Norman joined him in this and they kept the pace of the play running as they lied, sighed and bounced through the doors at regular intervals. Suitably annoyingly efficient Sally from the council joined by Dr Chapman the marriage guidance councillor confused the issues arising along with the very befuddled Mr Jenkins. Later joined by the efficient Ms Cowper , Mr Jenkins’s boss the company swiftly stormed through the mayhem and chaos’s caused by Eric and his slightly dim Uncle George. I must admit to feeling very sorry for the poor Miss Dixon as she tried to track down what the heck was going on with her fiancé, was he dead or alive? Special mention must go to the washing machine which buzzed and blustered from the kitchen and then appeared shuddering and foaming to create even more madness. This play caused great hilarity and the team work and trust of the cast was truly admirable, they obviously have a forte for comedy and now we look forward to panto!
