This is one of the classic musicals, and the audience usually has certain expectations of it. This production ticked all the boxes for me.

Sarah Knight (Juie Jordan) a lovely voice and a sensitive performance, Bethan Jones (Carrie Pipperidge) a fine comedy role with good timing and fine rendidtions of the solo numbers. I loved Mr Snow ( Gavin Nelson) totally different interpretation from any I have seen before, well done. James Dyer (Billy Bigelow) a very strong performance, I especially liked the Sololoquy, not an easy number to put over.

Anne Collins (Nettie Fowler) a lovely sympathetic performance, not the biggest part but she gets the most well known number, and she really did it justice.

When I first heard Damon Miles ( Jigger Craigin) i wasn't really sure about the gruff voice, as at times we lost the diction, but it seemed to improve as the perfromance went on. Julie Griffiths ( Mrs Mullins) gave another class perfromance.

One more mention was Deboral James ( Starkeeper/ Dr Seldon) not what we were expecting but the performance was just right, well done.

The set was appropriate and everything moved quickly and efficiently. The soloists and choral numbers sounded lovely and i am sure a lot of hard work went into the music and choreography for this production.

The costumes were bright and included the "classic" Billy Bigelow outfit.

It is very difficult to bring a different interpretation to this well known show, but this production held my interest from start to finish.

Congratulations to Derek and the production team, you and your cast should be very proud.
