Once again it is that time of year, Carols, Hot Coffee and Mince Pies. The Concert set the tone for the festive season ahead, it opened with two little girls from St. John's CE Primary Academy singing solo's with lovely clear voices. Then they were joined by the Brighouse Theatre Productions' Choir, and an evening of delightful music began. The Choir performed one or two unusual new Carols along with the traditional ones. All this was interspersed with rousing numbers from the Clifton and Lightcliffe Brass Band.
Before the interval I had the pleasure of presenting Amy Roche with a Cup for the "Best Leading Lady" for her role of "Mary" in their last production of "Jesus Christ Superstar"
In the second half the children treated us to a lively "Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer" complete with actions, and the M.D. of the Choir Thomas Lambert, delivered his own interpretation of (a very jolly one) "Sleigh Ride". This was just what was needed to cheer everyone up on a cold and very wet evening, needless to say we all came away in the mood for Christmas. Well done.
