CALENDAR GIRLS

This was a most enjoyable production by the Encore Theatre Company. Calendar Girls is a play with a very strong storyline and requires six ladies who not only are prepared to pose in nude or semi nude positions but are also able to  bring out both the comedy and the serious aspects of the play. Encore were fortunate enough to find six very acomplished ones all who excelled in their own way in parts of the production. The roles played by Sue Sheppard (Chris) and Pam Oxley (Annie) were outstanding, they both complimented each other beautifully, especially in the scene where Annie tells Chris she feels she is enjoying hogging the limelight. The production was well organised and staged if perhaps the setting was a touch modern for a church hall. I very much enjoyed this production.
