With the ever increasing cost of put on a musical and the uncertainty of ticket sales, P & P Productions moved their spring production to a smaller venue and presented this excellent Cabaret style concert, which was a like a show case for their talented members. With all the audience sat around tables, pre ordered drinks served at the interval, they created a wonderful atmosphere for their “Cabaret & Cocktails” concert.
There was a high standard of performance from the whole company, the very slick show had a nice variation and differing styles of songs, interspersed with a little bit of comedy. Sparkling costumes and excellent lighting gave the production a professional feel. However, unfortunately, once again at this venue, there were gremlins in the sound system throughout the evening, which does spoil it for the hardworking cast.
There were several individual outstanding performances on the night, the Leading Lady Parody, arranged by Jenny Houston, was just brilliant and I thought Paul Simkins’ rendition of “Music of the Night” was absolutely stunning.
