Broadway and Beyond

Any group thinking of putting on a musical review, should buy tickets to Thurcroft Musical Theatre Groups next production. This year group produced ‘Broadway and Beyond’ and it was a master class in reviews. 
With songs from classic musicals such as Guys and Dolls and Oklahoma to more contemporary shows such as Wicked making sure that there was something for everyone. 
For a review to work well, the company need to have an excellent Musical director. TMTG have no worries here, as Ray Gallagher is an exceptional MD. He managed to get some excellent harmonies from the cast which were a delight to listen too.  I must mention Daniel Comer and Simon Raffo who were simply amazing in their number, getting every last bit of comedy from their characters.
Stuart Roxburgh proved yet again what a fabulous performer he is with a very moving performance of Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. Sue Bowskill’s performance  can be summed up in one word - stunning. Sue drew the audience in with such a believable performance that I saw  some audience members wipe away a couple of tears. 
The performance of the night for me however came from Michaela Gibbs. Michaela’s powerful voice and clear diction was excellent in her performance, certainly a performer that I want to see more off. 
Many congratulations to all on the production team, who created a fantastic two hours of pure entertainment. Just what was needed on a rainy October night.
