Bleak Expectations

While not usually relevant to a NODA report, there are occasions in which production quality is limited by the quality of the material available. While a five series radio comedy show might bode well for a stage adaptation, its short (and curtailed) West End run suggests otherwise.  Nonetheless there was much to commend – director and performers achieved everything possible with the text presented, making the most of comic potential both verbal and visual.
