What a lovely atmosphere there was when I entered the venue for this seasonal show. The seating was arranged with tables and chairs with decorations and nibbles on them and it got you in the Christmas spirit.
This was not a pantomime but a sweet Christmas story and it was well delivered. Billy Christmas (Oliver Skinner) was good as the son, who just wanted his father to be awake on Christmas day, and I must mention Jayne( Lana Allen) Dwayne( Jason Heslop) and Elaine( Sue Hesketh-Jones) Mister Two Brains (Melissa Blenkiron) and Brain( Louise Cochrane)
L’elf was a joy, I saw Evan Cochrane, but I hear that Arwen skinner and Lucy Bradbury were equally as good
All the parts (too many to mention) were well played, but for me Rudolf (aka Cynthia Marie the red nosed reindeer) played by Jo Postle and Gran Christmas (Deb Hughes) gave us the best laughs.
Santa’s helper elves sang and performed with gusto and obviously enjoyed themselves and the song had us tapping our feet.
Mother Christmas came out at the interval and gave sweets to the good children and any child that wanted could have a chat to Father Christmas at the end.
Mention must be made of the set and stage crew under the management of Leanne Chapman, who coped very well with the limited space available.
All in all a heart-warming afternoons entertainment , Thank you once again for your kind invitation and hospitality.
