A most entertaining evening from the Light, this show could have been so bitty, but it actually flowed wonderfully. A show that demanded the very best from all its principals and they did not disapoint. The production team did an excellent job, it is always difficult to give that 'special something' that makes it outstanding and different from other productions you have seen. The very demanding role of Billy Fisher (Rick White) was played brilliantly from start to finish. His parents Alice and Geoffrey (Cathryn Riley and Colin Harris) gave 100% and Gran Fisher (Marilyn Mitchell) performed the role to perfection. I cannot fault any of the principal roles they all portrayed their characters with great confidence and aplomb. There were two lovely duets from Barbara and Billy"The Witch's Song" and "I Can Make a Difference" with Liz. The choreography and the big tap number from the whole company was spot on. The Society is well known for its singing and the chorus did not let them down, it was obvious the company thoroughly enjoyed themselves and they had an excellent rapport with their audience. Good lighting added to the atmosphere and you did not even notice the orchestra, it complimented the production. Well done!
