A cast of nearly 40 adults and children took to the stage to deliver this classic fairy tale with a modern twist.  Sets and props were minimal but costumes were appropriate for the period.

Eirlys Walker as Enchantress, waved her magic spell throughout. She was beautifully dressed and hit all the right notes. Experienced Sam Morris gave good characteization to the role of Prince/Beast and Ruth Purton as Prince Danton put her mark on this role from the onset, including her Elvis impression. Keep it in the Family, daughter Bethan Purton was just a natural on stage as Bob. Regal performance from Julie Whall as Baroness, excellent diction and voice projection throughout which is most important.
I liked the characterization of Beauty played by Lydia Newman- Walker, she brought a hint of innocence to the role and sang beautifully, her duets with the Prince/Beast were well delivered. Rachel Jones really enjoyed her role as Madame Bidet, and she was confident throughout the performance.  Another feather in the cap of Pierce Jones in the role of Jacques, who had a great rapport with the audience and delivered his script right on cue. Tom Whall as Alphonse did all that was required, whilst Zoe Thomson led the chorus of girls without fault. Lovely contributions from the smallest members of the cast and of course a very capable chorus who gave us many sing a long moments.

This community based Company performed well, and a lot of hard work by Production Team, stage and technical staff certainly paid off and was greatly appreciated by the audience. Another success for this resourceful Group – Well Done!
