Introduced by the rich recorded tones of Ian Glen (easily recognizable from his many film and television performances) Erith Operatic built on standards increasingly raised in recent productions to present a most enjoyable Beauty And The Beast. Imaginative use was made of moveable stairs to create the illusion of a large, rambling castle. A strong line up of principals supported by a company which included some very strong individuals made the most of their characters and the Menken score.
