There is not a lot of story to "Babes in the Wood", but it made a nice short Pantomime that had all the necessary ingredients for a good evening or afternoon's entertainment for all the family.

The society had a new Dame this year Nurse Tickle, (James Creegan) providing the comedy for the young ones, and subtle innuendos for the adults.  They had the most glamorous, wicked, scheming Sheriff of Nottingham (Rachel Warlop), I have ever seen, with excellent cut glass diction.  Robin (Natalie Jackson) and Maid Marion (Hayley Thompson) spearheaded the cast with good strong voices.  The confident "Babes" Matthew (Lyndan Barclay) and Sarah (Cadee Hawkins) were perfect foils for each other, both with clear diction and good strong singing voices.  Robin's "Merry Men" provided great support along with the smiling dancers.  Both the older and younger teams worked very hard in the fast moving numbers.

The many colourful costumes were delightful, so many Dame's dresses, a change for every appearance, and the Sheriff's superb sparkling outfits were fabulous.  The scenery and lighting this year were perfect.

Well done congratulations to all.
