Audacity

Facing a messy divorce, financial difficulties, and his life going nowhere, Philip (Mick McNeill) devises a cunning plan to address these issues. He rents a grimy, squalid and sparsely furnished flat. After some coercion he enlists the help of John (Craig Benson) and Dave (Nathan Partington) each with their own personal demons. All seems to be on track until John’s wife Gillian (Amy McKenzie) and Dave’s wife Gemma (Eliza Welch) join forces to investigate their husbands’ odd behaviour. I have taken this from the director Steve Brundell’s production note in the programme because it best fits the basic plot.

I must congratulate the Director and all the Cast on the presentation of a very clever and funny play of which there could have been a number of endings. I personally didn’t see it coming. The set was simple but worked very well and there were very strong performances from everyone. The characters were all very well developed. 

I must thank Broughton Dramatic Society for the invitation to a very pleasant and entertaining evening. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and look forward to your next production.
