It always amazes me what shows this society can do in such a small venue, but once again they proved their versatility. I was told by one member that this is a community/family based society and it showed in the way everyone pulled together.
The stage was used to great effect and the dance numbers were energetic and well executed given such a small space.
All the lead characters  played  their  parts equally well but I must mention Kate Summers (Reno Sweeney) who stole act 2 for me with “Blow Gabriel Blow, ably assisted by the rest of the Company, it was a joy to watch and had us all tapping our feet. Also, Angharad Middleton (Erma) and Pete Routley (Moonface Martin) a lovely comedic pairing.
The set was good was moved very well by cast and crew alike and the music under the direction of Bethan Ballam was spot on.
The show was updated to modern day with a female Captain (Deb Clarke), Purser ( Katie Brown) and references to “Selfies” but personally I felt that the update was not carried through to some of the characters and costumes (a small observation in an otherwise  enjoyable evening)
Thank you for making me so welcome and I hope to see you all again.
