This musical, is one that we don't get the chance to see very often, so it was a delight to have the opportunity to see Carlinghow's production and listen once again to the many memorable melodies by Irving Berlin.

The demanding roles of the sharp shooting rivals Annie Oakley (Jane Griffin) and Frank Butler (Gareth Jones) gave relaxed but commanding performances. Great interpertation of character roles from Buffalo Bill Cody (Chris Hall) and Sitting Bull, (Alan Sykes) both showed their experience and well-defined personalities.  Good backing from all the other principals and small parts. The three children, (I saw Team Butler that evening) made a really good partnership, all with excellent vocal quality, good comedy timing and movement.

The small company worked well together with the cast moving the scenery and props to help with the continuity and pace.  Good lighting also helped to enhance the production, the choreography was just right for the small stage and Ian Abbott's orchestra complimented the production.  Congratulations to all involved.
