This was indeed a really outstanding production with a brilliant cast. On the night I attended it was the Diamond team of orphans who were in action. To say they were good would be perhaps the understatement of the year they were simply brilliant. Amelia Depledge played the title role of Annie on Wednesday night a truly wonderful litle actress she sang and danced with complete confidence with very clear diction, a definite star of the future and Alice McCormack was an adorable Molly never missing a trick. Andrew Ashley (Warbucks) got the feeling of the role just right, his strong arrogant start being completely melted by the winning ways of Annie. Christine Shoesmith struck just the right tone with her very stylish performance as Grace Farrell. Rachel Marshall (Miss Hannigan) is just made for this role, it is hard to portray the right amount of inebreation the part calls for, Rachel got it just right. Rooster (Matt Roberts) gave perhaps the eyecatching performance of all his number Easy Street with the excellent Lily St. Regis (Anna Potton) and Miss Hannigan was simply amazing. Congratulations to the production team and all concerned.
