The world famous musical that warms hearts with it’s emotional story of an orphan finding happiness with a lonely millionaire tycoon, was brought to Abergavenny by AAODS jrs. It opened in 1974 in America and is still as fresh as ever bringing audiences to their feet whenever it is performed.

AAODS Jrs gave their all to this production and lived every minute on stage with high energy and many show stopper scenes from their talented cast.

Molly Hall as the adorable Annie was outstanding, a huge part to undertake, she kept up the constant involvement admirably and her clear vocals of the heartbreaking numbers were stunning.

Her poignant scenes with Daddy Warbucks played with a great maturity by Oliver Powell were full of great rapport from them both and the solo Something Was Missing was a moving rendition by Oliver.

Gwilym Rogers played a great Miss Hannigan, looked amazing and as the owner of the orphanage had it all, and hit the stage with a bang and has such great potential for the future, yet the speed of his dialogue lost some of those famous Miss Hannigan lines we want to hear.

With an incredible cast of youngsters who danced, sang and acted so brilliantly the show just went along with a great pace all working together as a team great to see, and outstanding choreography in every scene.

The Orphans and the Ensemble were a total support to Annie, orphan Molly, Charlotte Prosser is a star, talk about confident and a super performer!

A sensitive characterisation from Olivia O’ Gorman as Grace Farrell Oliver Warbuck’s Secretary and very lively scenes at the Orphanage confronting Miss Hannigan well done. Callie Trumper-Davies played an excellent Mrs Greer.

Hilarious scenes with Rooster Hannigan playing the villain so well, natural actor Robert Lewis, with his flighty cute girlfriend Lily St Regis, Lilly Webb and a feisty Miss Hannigan Gwilym Rogers dancing the night away!

Other parts very well played Roy Johns as a fabulous extrovert Bert Healy in Fully Dressed and here I must mention Fred Mc Cracken/Wacky from talented Bradley Wyatt. Roy Johns was also a statesmanlike President Roosevelt. Drake/Ward/Bundles from Harri Evans brought humour and skill to these parts

With a final fabulous Christmas scene, A New Deal For Christmas this show had all the audience in the Christmas spirit early!!

Congratulations AAODS Jrs and all the Production Team and those involved.  With this brilliant score and every song a winner who can resist Annie

Thank you for your kind hospitality and every success for Frozen 2026
