This was a most enjoyable production. Annie was played delightfully by (Gracie Caley). Her voice was clear and she performed the songs with great confidence and she had a very nice gentle american accent which was never over exaggerated. Her rapport with the other kids in the orphanage was very good and there were some lovely characters amongst them. The Saturday matinee Annie was played by (Grace Smith) and I am informed was also very good.
Miss Hannigan (Jackie Cox) gave a very strong performance. Her characterisation was excellent with great comedic timing. Oliver Warbucks (Christopher Adamson) had good strength in the character and played the part with great control. There were good performances by (Tina Collins) Grace Farrell and (Michael Cowling) Drake and also the various other household staff. Rooster (Zak Simpson) and Lily St. Regis (Macey Jay Collins) were very well matched and gave very good performances and together with Miss Hannigan gave an outstanding performance of Easy Street.
Everyone in the Radio scene with the youngsters of (Oliver Bailey) Fred McCracken and (Alexis Mai Trickett Severn) Wacky the ventiloquists dummy did very well and The Boylan Sisters (Claire Brannon)(Beverley Day) and (Nicola O’Connor) added a clever and very funny touch to the number dressed as char-ladies. Bert Healey (Benjamin O’Connor) gave a superb performance for someone so young. His timing and confidence was outstanding.
Well done everyone. I had a lovely evening and thank you for the invitation.
