Agatha Twisty and the Murder in Pantoland
Shinfield Players Theatre, SPT
Although Oscar Wilde’s play is exactly 130 years old, its themes continue to be relevant today, and the cleverness of his dialogue has not diminished. This interpretation included some audience pleasing contemporary anachronisms but the play itself was at its best when the focus was on Wilde’s sparkling witticisms and aphorisms. Characterisations were well developed, with limited acting space afforded by the intimacy of a studio presentation used to the best of its potential.
