Once again Pickering Musical Society showed their appreciative audience what they do best in this charming evening at the Music Hall.  Many Society regulars together with some new faces and returning members came together to present a wealth of Music Hall favourites.  The show was opened with two rousing company numbers which set the scene for the remains of the evening. We were welcomed by the magnificent master of ceremonies, Simon Wrench who guided through the rest of the entertainment with tongue twisting introductions to the many soloists who contributed.  Amongst the soloist Danny Dwyer gave a rousing rendition of “I’m Henry the Eighth, I am”, Matthew Russell presented a pleasing version of “There’s a Long, Long Trail”, Martin Connell added a comedic element with his “Bee Song” accompanied by a suitably buzzy bee Alice Rose, and the highlight of Part Two was the melodious performance of “A Bird in a Gilded Cage” by the talented Rachel Anderson.  With members of PMS youth group taking part, the whole of this active and dedicated Society worked wonderfully to perfect the pleasing and precise choreography.  The stage was dressed sympathetically to the genre and the costumes were well co-ordinated and exquisitely presented throughout, all adding to the overall cohesion of this well produced Evening at the Music Hall.  Many congratulations to all involved.
