Once again Cleckheaton and Spenborough treated their audience to an excellent adaption of the hugely successful comedy "Allo Allo", based on the very popular television series by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft. They are outstandingly good at this type of comedy especially when mayhem ensues. Set in Rene's (James Creegan) Cafe, during the German occupation of France, during the Second World War. This splendid romp all revolved around a very suggestive 'sausage' containing a painting of the Fallen Madona (with the big boobies) by Van Klomp. There were great interpretations from each and every character in this play, with laughter emerging from almost every line delivered. Good accents from both German and French characters and great off key singing from Edith, (Judith Morris) Rene's wife. She set our teeth on edge and made our toes curl up. The set look good and spacious on the newly extended stage. The stage crew and the lighting worked smoothly together making sure the scene changes flowed along easily. An excellent evenings entertainment, my congratulations to all involved and the talented director.
