This pantomime was a most enjoyable production with all the main characters encouraging audience participation from start to finish. The Principal boy Karen Parkin (Aladdin) and the Principal girl Sarah Teagle (Princess Jasmine) played their roles both singing and dancing in great style. Andy Macdonald (Widow Twankey) was very confident and kept the show alive and funny and was well supported in this task by Karen Rice (Wishee Washee) and also Sergeant Ping (Amanda Gatehouse) and P.C. Pong (Ashleigh Hellowell). Calum Davidson (Abanazar) managed to generate the mandatory hatred from all the audience and gave a most commanding performance. Rodney Bussey (The Emperor) was very impressive as was Brian Curran as the Genie of the lamp his camp style of performance was most unusual in this role. The stage sets were excellent especially the magic carpet u.v. scene. The show was well choreographed and danced. The small music trio were very good. Unfortunately the sound system was too aggresive and not well tuned at the matinee performance.
