The show had all the elements of a traditional pantomime full of corny jokes, slapstick physical humour, ad-libs and great interaction between the cast and the audience leading to much laughter and enjoyment. The hall was decorated with Chinese banners and a projection on the wall detailing the cast list with cast members in costume which gave a flavour of what was to come.

This was an excellent script and the cast under the direction of experienced pantomime actor and director Peter made the most of it. Their line delivery and comic timing were slick and punchy, and they never missed a beat with their corny jokes, physicality and wonderful facial expressions. The production was well cast with each of the principals giving confident performances supported by the large chorus. The principals sang well with lots of character and expression and were well supported by the chorus.

The home-built set was creative with an impressive 3D cave which opened up to reveal gold and jewellery. The laundry scene was cleverly designed using a life-sized washer and dryer and the washing, shrinking and subsequent stretching out of Nobby was beautifully managed with much hilarity. The audience were engaged from beginning to end and it was a delight to see how much everyone and especially the children were enjoying the show
