This Society always gives a high standard pantomime and this year was no exception. Laura Siddall (Aladdin) gave a very confident performance and was well supported by Victoria Johnson (Princess Jasmine). The production was kept bubbling along by Mark Waters as Dame Twankey, his 'Max Miller cheerful chappie' style of attacking the audience verbally and with his water gun kept us all on our toes and his 'George Formby' number was enjoyable. He was well supported by Victoria Goff (Wishee) who gave a most enjoyable performance. The Chinese policemen Ping (Kay Carter) and Pong (David Firth) were two most likeable blundering characters. I have never seen a broad Yorkshire Emperor (JohnHewitt) before but it is said there is a first for everything! Bren Harrington was a suitably nasty magician who was thwarted by the Genie of the Ring (Dawn Allaway) with help from the Genie of the Lamp (Mark Rogers). The show was well produced and choreographed and the excellent costumes, fine sound & lighting added much to this production.
