A Night at the Musicals

I was enthralled by the concert "A Night at the Musicals" on Saturday, given by GDS Productions at the Howard School. Everything about this piece ticked the right boxes for me. Good choice of material, perfect band of four. At the helm was the incomparable Owen McColgan providing a perfectly balanced sound. Making up the band were David Johnathan Keyboard, Rob Ferguson Bass, and Percussion Alex Coveney. The cast of 14 singers gave us a varied concert with songs from musicals, some well known some not so well known. But all the performances were top notch, all performed to a very high standard. Well done to Marianna Allen, Nicole Baker, Rhea Baker, Ellie Boardman, Jessie Ivy Booth, Jent Boyns, Emma Constantine, Rachel Crane-Herbert, Racheal Heard, Stuart Grace-Hix, Tonia Plowman, Laura Stoneman, Joe Warrilow, and Harry Wildash. Your voices whether solo,i n duets or as company certainly came across to us in the audience. Well done to Jeni and Owen for putting together such a varied look at the musical theatre on the way back.
