Another gem from Sutton Arts. Debbie Loweth’s production was set in modern dress in a bar, The Athens Working Men’s Club and a forest. And with Puck and Oberon dressed as Teddy Boys this was a very bright production. Elvie Broom as Puck had a very cheeky look about her and a very good accent. Richard Ham played two roles, Theseus and Oberon, King of the Fairies as did Elena Serafinas as Hippolyta and Titania and were well supported by Dexter Whitehead and Michelle Dawes. Patrick Richmond-Ward gave an outstanding performance as bottom. All credit must be given to the company for their accents. I particularly enjoyed the Black Country accent of Aimee Hall. The set was well designed and suited the entire performance.
