A Bunch Of Amateurs is written by Nick Newman and Ian Hislop. Director Jenny Green has an excellent cast for this play, the set is a stage in a local church hall used by the local drama group for their productions in the village of Stratford Suffolk. The lighting and sound are good.

Hannah Marks plays Dorothy the director of group, and is truly believable in the part. They have to try and save their theatre from developers.  They decide to do King Lear and get an American Star actor to come along to take part. Shawn Condra plays Jefferson Steel who is keen to further his career by playing a Shakespearean role in Stratford-Upon-Avon. He expects everyone to look after him and be at his beck and call and didn't realise he was in Stratford in Suffolk.

Other members of the group are Richard Barnett as Nigel always keen to step in and take over the lead role at a moment's notice. Some great comedy lines and timings with this character.  Mary Plunkett plays Debbie Murray and Jack Barnett was good as Dennis Dobbins.  Charlotte Hall played Lauren Bell there was a very funny scene with her and Jefferson. Emma Davis plays Jessica Steel who comes to England to see her father. They work very well together and she has great comic timing.

The whole play is very good, the cast work very well together and it's a very funny but thoughtful show.  Well done.
