Allowing for the presence of larger than life characters within the script, Erith Playhouse avoided the inherent danger of hamming up created by amateur actors performing as amateur actors. A well-designed set created the potential for the Hislop & Newman piece to be brought to life in a satisfyingly entertaining performance.
