It is opening night and once again an excellent evening’s entertainment from the Class Act
Theatre Company, with their production of 9 To 5 The musical; their first full musical
production since the period of lockdown.
It is a tribute to the company that they can initiate double casting for many of the character
roles, providing interest and experience for its loyal membership.
In true Dolly Parton style, Megan Pugh-Adams as Doralie gave an excellent performance.
She looked ,acted, sang, and sounded the real thing and never lost the iconic
characterisation for one minute; [Look out Dolly].
A very good performance by Louise marsh as Violet, the much-overlooked office manager
and Ellie Carter as the “New Girl” Judy. This main trio were an excellent casting decision and
all three performed their individual musical moments to perfection. A beautiful duet
between Violet [Louise Marsh] and Carl Fielding as Joe certainly gave the audience great
pleasure.
An amazing performance by Jo Postle as the pompous and straight-laced secretary Roz,
certainly had the audience clapping, when the dowdy secretary transformed into the sexy
Diva. Well sung and well-choreographed.
Well done to Aaron Smith as Mr Hart. Not always easy to play the villain with a hint of
comedy, but well accomplished as shown by the audience reaction. They just loved to hate
him.
As always, this company has shown its strength in the enthusiasm of its chorus and the
enjoyment they exude in the performance. Well done to Louise Marsh, not only for her
individual performance but the well thought out stage direction and choreography, that
very much brought out the best for the whole cast.
It is always my pleasure to visit this company and I wish you all good luck for your future
projects and performances.
