The Penelopiad
Sinodun Players, The Corn Exchange, Wallingford
The 1933 film was truly part of the golden age of Hollywood musicals and it was brilliant to see it bought to life by a company of performers with considerable singing and dancing skills. The choreography was well worked and delivered and must have taken many hours of hard drilling to make it look so effortless. A full house were rewarded by a great show and stood in ovation at the end of a great night’s entertainment. I did wonder why the show was chosen but as the plot unfolded there were some strong parallels to the modern world which developed.
