13 The Musical

Following a complete make-over of the main hall the light uncluttered walls and suitable lighting created a much more ‘theatrical’ atmosphere. Siting the band behind the audience allowed them to be less of a visual distraction. The bright open stage was terrific with just the grey, very well painted (in perspective) tall buildings The large cast of young performers, of various ages, moved the piece along at a good pace. With some strong performances from lead players the ‘grown up story about growing up’ unfolded with well sung solos and ensemble numbers. Everyone taking part in a show such as this has to create an individual character as well as being part of the whole team and the cast did all work well together and all entrances and exits were clean and appeared well rehearsed. A very entertaining show.
