LIDOS sweep the boards at LeedsCAN awards night
It was a massive night for LIDOS and their production of Rent - it swept the board in all the musical categories of the Leeds Community Arts Network (LeedsCAN) awards for 2017/18.
The show won Best Musical and Best Visual Presentation. The cast won the following awards -
Best female performance in a musical - Eve Kitchingma
Best male performance in a musical - Paul Lonsdale
Best supporting female performance in a musical - Megan Bassett
Best supporting male performance in a musical - Kyle Walker
Other LIDOS award winners were Sian Lomax (Commitment in a non-acting role) and Libby Harker (Tony Hoyland Youth Award)
In the drama categories there were successes from NODA Societies - Cosmopolitan Players, Leeds Arts Centre, Leeds Children's Theatre and STARS -
Best leading male in a play - Chris Binns, A Bunch of Amateurs, STARS
Chris Fox Comedy Award - Glen Routledge - Blackadder II, Cosmopolitan Players
Best Supporting Female in a play - Molly Goodison, Goodnight Mr Tom, LCT
Best leading female in a play - Stacy Waterworth, The Thrill of Love, Cosmopolitan Players
Best Supporting Male in a Dramatic Production - Howard Russell - Charley's Aunt - LAC
Best Play - Blood and Ice - LAC
Outstanding Service Award - Mary Nelson - LAC
