Develop Your Acting Skills at Free Drama Workshops!
Next month, Thame Players are holding a series of three consecutive Drama Workshops, which are aimed at wannabe actors as well as at actors who would like to improve their skills. These workshops follow the success of Thame Players’ previous workshops, held in previous years.
These workshops are absolutely free of charge to participants and will last two hours in the early evenings of Monday 2nd, 9th and 13th February. They will be hosted by two experienced Thame Players’ actors, Matt Sparkes and Janet Erskine, who ran them successfully before. Attendees will learn about the key elements of theatrical performance, character development and physical storytelling, and get to take part in drama games and improvisation, as well as doing voice work. They should expect to leave each workshop with a boost in self-confidence, stage presence and creativity. Not to mention the fun evenings they’ll enjoy and new friends they’ll meet!
The Drama Workshops will be held from 6.30 – 8.30 pm on Monday 2nd, Monday 9th and Monday 16th February. The first two will be held at Thame Museum, not on the theatre’s stage, so no-one needs to get stage fright! The final one will be held at the Players Theatre, Thame, and includes a tour of the theatre, with a chance to see what goes on behind the scenes and on stage. At this final workshop of the three, participants will be invited to take part in an informal performance for friends and family.
Whether you’re taking your first steps on stage or looking to hone your craft, these workshops are perfect for all ages, from 15 to 75! Anyone can take part, and no experience is required.
This is a fantastic opportunity to improvise, take part in drama games, and develop your acting skills in an informal setting, led by experienced actors.
Anyone interested should register for a free place as soon as possible, by emailing helen.johns@thameplayers.co.uk or calling her on 0771 743 4983. But they should hurry, as there is a limit on numbers and it’s anticipated that spaces will fill up quickly!
