Bramley Parish Players seek Aladdin & Princess
Bramley Parish Theatre Players 2018 pantomime Aladdin is being present in Leeds during February half term next year and they are looking for an Aladdin and a Princess Yasmin.
Auditions are being held this Sunday, 9th July. Dance/music/company scenes will be typically set on Sunday afternoons with additional libretto rehearsals on Wednesday evenings.
Character descriptions –
Aladdin (Adult/young adult, female principal boy)
A poor lad who can be found anywhere but helping his mother in the laundry. Constantly seeking adventure and getting himself into trouble. Shows strength of character throughout the story - he is the hero of our pantomime! Looking for someone who can portray the ‘Jack the lad’ kind of character when he is poor, as well as suit being prince like when he comes into money and riches, so that the Emperor/Empress will think that he really is a prince and allow him to marry the princess. Must be a confident singer and mover onstage.
Princess Yasmin (Adult/young adult, principal girl)
Yasmin is the most beautiful female in China. Fed up with her controlled life as a princess and wishes to marry someone she loves for who they are, as opposed to the money they own. Romantic lead, required to sing and move well.
