The family of James Sanderson is shocked when the doctor suspects that James was poisoned, and refuses to sign the death certificate. Everyone present in the house that day falls under suspicion - including the two stepdaughters Nina and Kate.

James's will provides some surprises, particularly for his brother Hector, and as secrets are exposed, it could be that further members of the household are also implicated.

As the investigation continues, Detective Inspector Harvis exposes more lies, and the poison is found in dramatic and shocking circumstances.
