The fascinating true story of an opera singer from Wigan who charmed Adolf Hitler while helping Britain win World War II
Margery Booth was born in 1906 and made her professional opera singing debut at Wigan’s Queen’s Hall in 1935. With a blooming career taking her all over the world she was living in Germany at the outbreak of the Second World War.
Trusted by the Nazis, she was employed to entertain the prisoners of Stalag III, where she worked with British agents to smuggle documents out of the country in her underwear.
This thrilling play is the untold story of a woman who could charm the world but was never entirely trusted either at home or abroad.
