EYDON PLAYERS spring/summer production from 19th -21st June is (by arrangement with Nick Hern books) LADIES DAY by AMANDA WHITTINGTON, an award-winning author of more than 30 plays.
This delightful, heartwarming (and occasionally poignant) drama tells of the days surrounding Royal Ascot in 2005 when because of the redevelopment works at its traditional home, it had to migrate north to York. Our heroines are a group of ladies working in a Hull fish-packing factory who decide to sample the delights of Ladies Day.
Do they get there? Have they got hats? How do they get on? What secrets do they have? Are they winners - or do they come home shirtless? And what on earth has Tony Christie got to do with it? All will be revealed......
Can't make the trip to Ascot this year? Eydon Players have even arranged for the opening night to coincide with ........ Ladies Day!
