"Branching Out" & "Dirty Business"

St Vincent's Dramatics Society presents an amateur production by arrangement with Stagescripts Ltd of “Branching Out” by Keith Trezise & “Dirty Business” by Derek Webb

Branching Out” by Keith Trezise

Described as a “green” socio-political play set in a big tree, three intrepid eco-warriors arrive at the site of a condemned tree with the sole purpose of saving it from the road developer’s axe.

However, each has his or her own private reason for being there; Rachel is up the tree for herself; Derek is up the tree for Rachel; Pauline is up the tree for the tree.

Dirty Business” by Derek Webb

Spending cuts are on their way big time at the local County Council. Whilst cleaning a Department Head’s office, two cleaners come across a file which seems to show that their jobs are on the line too, and they determine to fight the cuts every inch of the way.

Josie, who has a penchant for malapropisms, and Angela, Queen of the pub quiz team, set out to persuade the manager to change his mind about some of the planned cuts.

So, when they discover some incriminating evidence suggesting Roger is guilty of marital infidelity, they decide to take action. And if that means playing dirty, so be it!

But not everything goes quite according to plan...
