TLT has recently celebrated it's centenary but due to the Covid restrictions in force at the time, it was a very muted celebration.  However, the TLT centenary video which was presented to welcome everyone back after COVID, can be found here...

We hope that you enjoy it and, if you are a TLT member, past or present, that it brings back fond memories.

Tyldesley Little Theatre (TLT) first came to life in 1921 and today is still serving the local community with high quality drama in live theatre. Now in our 104th Season, we are one of the older amateur dramatic societies in the country and can trace many of our stage productions right back to those early days (see our 'History' page). We are members of the 'Greater Manchester Drama Federation' - GMDF, the 'Bolton Amateur Theatre Societies' - BATS and, of course, the 'National Operatic & Dramatic Association' - NODA)

Please look through all our web pages. You will find details of the society, our history and details of our productions, past present and future. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact us using the email details on the web-site sidebar.

What do we do?

We are an amateur society, run totally by volunteers but offering entertainment to very high standards, bringing live theatre to you at a reasonable price. We usually perform four plays a year along with our traditional family pantomime. Our plays are varied, offering a wide range of entertainment from comedy and thrillers through to farce.

The Theatre

The auditorium is a small, intimate space, seating 139 people on two levels. The Stalls are on the ground-floor of the building, with a small Balcony on the first-floor (some seats in the latter area have restricted sight-lines). We have refreshment rooms on both the ground-floor and in the basement, where tea, coffee and biscuits are available during the interval.

Membership

We meet regularly, normally on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week, from 7:30 to 10:00, for rehearsals, with a break during the summer and over Christmas/New Year due to holidays etc. We hold auditions for all our productions (see our 'News-Room' page for details as they become available).

We are always pleased to welcome new members to the company, in an acting, backstage or social sphere. It doesn't matter whether you want to act on stage or simply brew up, you are very welcome. We need members to help out in all the jobs that occur in professional theatre. These include, directing, acting, backstage team, set construction, technical, greeting patrons, making refreshments, and, regrettably, washing up & cleaning!!

Unfortunately we are not a musical society, neither do we have a youth section (we regret that membership is limited the those aged 18 and above). Normally, the only availabilty for singers are in our annual pantomime, the auditions for which are usually held in June/July.

Come along on our rehearsal nights for a look around, but, as mentioned above, during the summer (and over Christmas/New Year) because of holidays etc.,  please contact us first. You will find all the contact details that you need on the TLT web-pages.

Disabled Access and Facilities

The Stalls and ground-floor public areas are fully accessible by wheel-chair. We have an area of the Stalls which, on-request, can accommodate wheel-chairs. If you require this facility, please mention when booking tickets. Our Front-of-House staff will be pleased to offer any assistance you may need.

We have a unisex toilet on the ground-floor with full disabled access and facilities. On the balcony level, we have an ambulatory toilet in the Men's Toilet. Both toilets are to the latest government and local authority standards.

The auditorium is fitted with an audio induction loop for those with hearing difficulties. Best reception can be had around the edge of the auditorium. Reception on the balcony can not be guaranteed.
