The Torrington Players is a vibrant, friendly society, which was founded in 1980 by a small group of enthusiasts in Great Torrington, a picturesque, hilltop market town in North Devon.
We have a solid core membership and are always looking for new members, whatever their skills (see ‘join us’ for details). We aim to stage up to two major productions a year which are performed in our local, well equipped theatre: The Plough Arts Centre, 9-11 Fore Street, Torrington, EX38 8HQ (see links). In addition, we take part in various arts festivals, and take smaller productions ‘on tour’ around local communities.
We run occasional workshops on all aspects of the performing arts, have regular play readings and not so regular theatre trips; not to mention our other social events e.g. fiendishly difficult quiz evenings.
