Over Players

The Over Players is a not for profit society based in the village of Over just north of Cambridge and draws its membership from many villages. Our aim is to engage members of the community, both young and old, towards a common goal of entertaining local audiences by performing amateur productions. 

We like to identify and encourage the development of local talent and provide them with the skills and experience required to stage productions. Several of our members have gone on to work professionally in theatre and entertainment and we are so proud of them! Over the years we have performed plays, musicals, Music Hall, variety shows, comedies, farces, and pantomimes as well as external events and drama festivals. We’ve even been “on tour”and tackled Shakespeare! 

Fancy joining us on stage or behind the scenes? We are a friendly sociable group that always welcomes new members. Junior Members have to be at secondary school (from year 7) to take part, but we have no upper age limit! Membership lasts a whole year and covers insurance, shows and costumes.
