In 1987, members of the Parent Teachers Associated at Haslingfield Primary School put on a production of Dick Whittington. This was followed by Peter Pan a year later, and then in 1989, the new Haslingfield Little Theatre produced its first production, A Midsummer Night's Dream and we have continued to go from strength to strength ever since.
Our members span all generations and include a thriving 'Young Little Theatre' (aged 8-11), who perform their own play in August each year, a lively youth membership (aged 13-17) and our adult members (aged 18-80+) who put their wealth of experience, knowledge and skills to go use and support and mentor our new generations of members.
We currently perform two major shows per year; a family show/pantomime in November and a play in May but also ensure there are other activities for our membership in between our production schedules including HLT Songbirds which was a spin-off group formed in 2023 who meet periodically for singing workshops.
In 2000, we obtained charitable status (Registered Charity No. 1079616) whose objectives are to promote advancement, improvement and education regarding all aspects of the performing arts and development of all such arts within the village of Haslingfield, Cambridgeshire and its surrounding areas.
