Erewash Musical Society

Established in 1899 under a different name, Erewash Musical Society is a Musical Theatre company for adults aged 18-80. We perform two musicals per year (usually March and October) at the Duchess Theatre, Long Eaton. We rehearse Monday and Friday nights and occasionally on Sundays as we draw closer to the current show. We offer a wide variety of social activities during show week and throughout the year. Membership for acting members is by audition. Membership for non-acting members or patrons does not require an audition. We have an active youth group, EMUs, for 11-18 year olds, where no audition is necessary, and they also perform twice a year (February and July). We are a very friendly society and welcome new members to enquire. We have performed a wide variety of musicals over the years, from sung-through musicals including Jekyll and Hyde and Chess, to classics including the Rogers and Hammerstein musicals, and more modern musicals including Our House, Made in Dagenham and Sister Act.
