Egerton Players is a Kent village drama group with some 50 members of all ages drawn from the locality. We are based in the village of Egerton, some six miles west of Ashford, atop the greensand ridge, overlooking the Weald of Kent. Most of our productions are staged in Egerton's beautiful Millennium Village Hall; although in past years we have braved the English summer with outdoor extravaganzas including Shakespeare's magnificent A Midsummer Night's Dream and the critically acclaimed Darling Buds of May, performed on the set of the original TV series.
Our most recent production was a very successful pantomime, Aladdin and the Pirates which we performed in early December 2017 to get everyone in the Chistmas spirit. All the shows were extremely well attended and the cast seemed to enjoy it as much as the audiences did! Prior to that we staged The Railway children, the musical based on the wonderful book by E. Nesbit. Both these productions received some wonderful praise from our local NODA representative which makes us very proud.
We are currently busy rehearsing for two one-act plays to be staged on two evenings in late April 2018. Fates Thread, a ghost story with a modern twist and Last Panto in Little Grimley, a hilarious comedy about, of all things, the committee of a local amateur dramatic society!
