Masqueraders Theatrical Society performed Young Frankenstein a new show to the area. Young Frankenstein is the grandson of Victor Frankenstein, who has at the start of the musical has passed away and left his state in Transylvania to his grandson who is reluctant to take over and has tried to distance himself from his family for years and this is where the fun begin.

The Principle Cast is made up Andy Ward as Young Frankenstein who is no stranger to the stage and take up the lead role for the first time in a few years, Andy has always been good at Characterisation and this was no exception his interaction with all on stage was fantastic throughout.  Naomi O’Borne as Inga a second outing in a principal role for Naomi and a excellent performance both vocally and characterisation. Having one of the best vocals in the whole show a excellent performance and can't wait to see what comes next.

Chad Fletcher as Igor and Kim Liggins as Frau Blucher comedic roles as most the roles are and they both knew how to pull off the right level of comedy and accents were spot on and very enjoyable.

Richard Yates as the Monster and Ashley Blackstock as Inspector Hans Kemp again comedic performances and enjoyable to watch.

Freja Brabazon – Elizabeth Benning who has been on the stage since a very young age and is about to take a break to go  and what a performance to leave on as this was an excellent performance by Freya. Very well done.

Jenny Chappell as the Blind Hermit was one of the small roles but you are never disappointed when Jenny’s in a principal role. This was vocally and characteristically brilliant and certainly had everybody laughing and feeling sorry for her character. Jenny also took on more roles for this show being costumes and the role of choreographer after agreeing to just help out and then took on the role as a full position it is very impressive everything that Jenny managed to achieve during the show.

The chorus was small and mighty full of characteristics although slightly scary in some of the scenes when they wanted to hunt down Young Frankenstein! And carried out some excellent choreography.  The set was very impressive  considering the size ofc the stage at the Abbey Theatre. Managing to fit in multiple locations including a full on working laboratory. An excellent job by the Stage Management Team.   The lighting and sound were in keeping with the theme of the show even if they did make one or two of the audience jump once or twice!

Overall the show was surprisingly light hearted, comedic and very funny. And congratulation should go to all those involved in the in the on the production team and cast alike. Well done.
