This year's Summer Show is titled WWW, Walls, Wicked & Whisky. We started with Wicked, which is made up of infamous villains who each go in front of the judge and the audience to tell their side of the story. We then vote to say if they can get off or not. The set was good, made up of shop fronts and doors with names on them like Sweeny for the barbers, Orphanage for Miss Hanagen etc. Director Michael Leggett has a great cast for this section. Aided by Matt Timmins as Musical Director and Ann Clark as Choreographer. I liked all the songs and everyone acted their character very well.

We then went to see Walls, which is based on being in prison. Locked inside, or a song and dance? The set is mainly the inside area of the prison with a separate side area on each side. The creative team are Jane Lee as Musical Director, Melissa Charman as Choreographer, Patrick Lee on keyboard, & Richard Bennett. There are some great ideas for this section, good song choices and nice dance movements. I liked the Sing Sing sign over the door.

Whisky is set in a run down but friendly, well liked by the regulars, pub that's seen better days. The set was simple making the most out of the space available. Director David Kehoe has a good cast for this story, along with Beth Larry with choreography and Erin Bruce as Musical Director. There are some great song choices, and characters. Everyone works well together and this comes across. The idea is a good one with everyone singing happy songs. Then the building inspector comes in with a list of improvements that need doing otherwise it would have to be closed down. The regulars all pull together to try to fund raise, when the librarian spots a 1st edition on the bookshelf worth one hundred thousand pounds, so when they sell it will have the money they need to save the pub.

Well done to everyone involved. The summer shows are a great evening's entertainment. You can see all the hard work that has been put in. A fun night had by all.
