Another fine offering of “wartime” entertainment by PMS with their annual War Weekend compilation show. The time and effort which clearly went into devising the various sections was well matched by the presentation given by the 50 strong cast of senior and junior members. The Director created delightful pictures interlinked with well practiced choreography. The music chosen flowed well from one number to the next, highlighted with some well rehearsed part singing, and interspersed with pleasant duets and solos. The junior section added a further dimension to the proceedings, with a particularly charming presentation of “The Washing on the Siegfried Line”. It was encouraging to see a strong men’s chorus, with their George Formby tribute raising a smile. The finale sing-along section was clearly welcomed by the audience who had been keen to join in at several points during both Act 1 and Act 2. The period costumes were, as ever, in keeping throughout, complemented by the use of the various Uniforms and the whole evening was set in front of the “White Cliffs”, an appealing backdrop for the action. Thank you for another enjoyable evening at the Kirk Theatre.
