Eastwood Entertainers' production of We Will Rock You was a fantastic and thoroughly entertaining show from start to finish. The production team demonstrated a clear understanding of each scene and its context, using the fixed set, atmospheric lighting, costumes, and staging to create an exciting theatrical journey for the audience. The lighting was particularly effective throughout, enhancing mood and energy, while the video screen was used to great effect to support storytelling and establish setting. All of these elements worked seamlessly together to complement the fabulous Queen music for which the show is so well known. Congratulations to Ross, Kerry, Angus and Sarah for their vision in bringing Eastwood's version of this iconic show to life. Their creative choices resulted in a production that was visually engaging, cohesive, and packed with energy.

The ensemble embraced the many different roles required throughout the show and committed fully to each one. Their versatility and enthusiasm added greatly to the overall success of the production. Killer Queen's bedroom scene was a particular showstopper, with every dancer absolutely rocking their costume … or lack of it! … and creating a memorable and highly entertaining number.

The principals delivered excellent characterisations and impressive vocals throughout, fully inhabiting their roles while building believable relationships on stage and creating memorable individual performances.

Ross Pollock was outstanding as Galileo, bringing excellent comic timing, great physical comedy, and a wonderfully engaging presence to the role. Mhairi Caulfield delivered powerhouse vocals as Scaramouche while also bringing warmth and likeability to the character's feisty nature. Kirsty Collins was an iconic Killer Queen, completely embodying the role and clearly relishing every moment she spent on stage. John Trevor Hughes provided a commanding and authoritative Khashoggi, creating a formidable stage presence whenever he appeared. Ross Weston was a witty and charming Brit, while Monica Jamieson impressed with flawless vocals and a sweet yet determined portrayal of Oz. Graham Copeland brought humour and a relaxed, hippy charm to Buddy, making the character both entertaining and endearing. Jen McNair was a committed and convincing teacher, contributing effectively to the world of the production.

Overall, this was a highly accomplished production that combined strong performances, thoughtful creative vision, and excellent technical support to deliver an enjoyable and memorable evening of theatre. Well done to everyone involved.
